Dr. Garruto is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology with medical retina and cornea fellowships. He brings an abundance of knowledge and experience to Newsom Eye specializing in the treatment of retina, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and other diseases of the retina. His expertise of the cornea includes dry eyes, conjuntivitis, keratitis, collagen cross-linking and corneal transplants. Dr. Garruto also specializes in blepharoplasty, which is a procedure that repairs droopy eyelids.
Dr. Garruto was born and raised in New Jersey, and now resides in the Tampa Bay area. His personal interests include skiing, playing tennis and visiting national parks with his wife and three children.
